From now on when someone says Kings X, I will always think-Three guys and a lot of noise. Well
there is much more to them than just noise, they make incredibly good music and sound like a 5
piece rather than a trio. Jerry Gaskill (drums, vocals), Doug Pinnick (bass, vocals) and Ty Tabor
(guitar, vocals, producer, mastering, mixing), are three awesomely talented dudes that have their
act together and their chops down like clockwork. Their timing is like a precision Swiss watch.

Black Like Sunday is sonic progressive metal fest filled with hooks and Beatlesque vocals.
Think of The Beatles playing heavy metal and you have what Kings X sounds like. Although it is
easy to plop them into a genre their style and approach is another matter entirely. Just when you
anticipate a more predictable pattern in their sound, they break away and change direction and
blast you right out your listening chair with a barrage of guitar, bass and drums.

This music has a tension and aura that I really like. It is loud and brash but in the same instance
beautiful and striking. You have to have a strong leaning towards metal and prog to dig this music
for what it is worth. This band is one of the most talented today and for some reason they have
never broke it big like they should have. Who knows, this may be the time for a broader audience
to discover them. Either way, I believe their core audience will absolutely love this CD and I know
a huge audience of listeners is out there waiting to devour everything they have to offer.
