Music for Restaurants ~ Julie Frith Music for Restaurants is a set of three ambient compositions designed to be ignored. Two of them are long form (26’ and 30’) and the other is mid-length (10’). One of the coolest features of good ignorable ambience is that it is also interesting. Far from the truly ignorable muzak, true ambient music must it Erik Satie’s definition – to be equally interesting and ignorable. Julie Frith has constructed these soundscapes to fit those molds. She combines acoustics, electronics, samples and processes to create atmospheres that enhance the environments in which they are heard – or ignored! The impeccable sound design generates beautiful music. The music generates peaceful relaxation. The relaxation promotes healing. This is a diverse CD and a great experience! - Jim Brenholts
