Nuju Laras Bronze Rain Gamelan Bronze Rain Gamelan is a set of -- DUH! -- gamelan performances by Nuju Laras -- Javanese for "searching for unity of one voice." The metallic sounds and textures of the gamelan bells can be hard to take -- even harsh and dissonant. In the custody of experts, however, those properties become the charm and appeal. These compositions -- new and traditional alike -- have deep sonority and brilliant atmospheres. The sound design takes advantage of that and creates smooth contemplative soundscapes. ~ Jim Brenholts
