The Handmaid’s Tale Ryuichi Sakamato The Handmaid’s Tale is an interesting set from Ryuichi Sakamato. It is his dark score for the sci-fi movie based on the novel by Margaret Atwood. It’s a combination of electronics, processed samples, noise, found sounds, strange vocals and avant-garde dissonance and it works! Ryuichi is a master sound designer and he has molded these unrelated sounds into a cohesive soundscape with sci-fi timbres and inconsistent textures. He frames the juxtapositions properly to form the cohesion. This is great experimental e-music. - Jim Brenholts
