His sound design incorporates ethnic acoustics, deep drones – electronic and acoustic – and all of the intangibles that make this style of ambient space music great. Phil’s atmospheres capture those intangibles and present them as essentials to inner space music. Indeed, they are essential to the artistic merit of healing and meditative CD’s. This dynamic set is an essential experience. Dreamscapes comes as close as a CD can to capturing the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical properties of R.E.M. sleep and the dreams that occur there. His sound design skills are sharp and his atmospheres are expansive. He uses acoustic and electronic drones and overtones to connect the atmospheres and build soundscapes. This is a very gentle brand of intensity and it will work for the novice and the experienced practitioner. It is essential inner space music! - Jim Brenholts
