Sinister Street: Trust (CD;62:19) Sinister Street is a progressive rock band from Holland, whose latest CD is Trust. There is some nice music here, which doesn’t stray too far from the standards of the genre. The songs are stronger towards the middle and end of the disc and it gets better the more you listen to it. Excellent musicianship throughout! The band consists of Olaf Blaauw on vocals, Erik Van der Vus and Peter Van Leerdam on keyboards and backing vocals, Frits Bonjemoor on drums, Omar Niamut on guitars, and Roger Vingerhoeds on bass guitar. ~ Mark Rabuffo The songs: Song For A Day Thin Ice Lost For Words Trust Two In One Midas Touch Go The Distance Turning Tide Through The Looking Glass Special Bonus Track: Two In One (Radio Edit) Mark’s Picks: Trust – excellent instrumental; a little heavier than the other songs. Go The Distance – catchy, up-tempo tune. The first single in my fantasy music world! Turning Tide – excellent track; exciting rhythms, nice dynamics and a tasty solo. Through The Looking Glass – one of the longest tracks on the disc, clocking in at almost eight minutes. Some great guitar work here and the vocals really shine. Nice arrangement!
