Carptree: Carptree (CD, 56:47); Fosfor Records, 2001 E-mail: carptree@care2.com Cyberhome: http://www.home.passagen.se/carptree.com 10 words or less: Swedish Pop Rock band who wishes they were prog Elaboration: Take one part late XTC, one part late Peter Gabriel and one part Pop era Porcupine Tree and you’ll get the idea of what Carptree sound like. There are some nice Synthesizer moments on this album of short song-oriented tunes but aside from that I can't recommend this to any serious fan of progressive music. Is there good songcraft you ask? Well of course, otherwise I wouldn’t have used the 3 artists I did as a comparison but as someone who prefers more complex music, I know I have enough of this style of Pop in my collection that I’m not looking to add anymore. If however you long for more bands like Porcupine Tree and Pop era Marillion then by all means Carptree is for you. ~ L Perez
