This is a definite "power team" of fusion musicians
coming together to offer one solid release of highly
listenable jazz fusion. Vinnie Colaiuta lays down his
typical genius in rhythmic fashion. JK, a bassist I
find a real thrill to hear groove, is superb on every cut.
Antti Kotikoski is his usual "monster" fusion-axe self,
outdoing himself on slippery legato and ringing full tones
in all his riffs and chords. Reed work by Steve the
"Tav" calls to mind the work of recently passed Bob Berg.
In many ways you will hear echoes of that Berg/Stern sax/axe
interplay on this release as well as even that David
Binney/Adam Rogers, sax/axe, Lost Tribe, funked / slicked /
fusion groove. But for certain, this remains a uniquely
successful "Cave Men" fusion experience.
A recommended listen -- please pass some more of that
bronto steak this way guys.
