Edgar Froese: Macula Transfer 1975-1976, re-released 1998 Macula Transfer is a classic album by Edgar Froese. It was available on CD for only a short time. It is long since unavailable in any format. There are many excellent for this recording to have classic status. Chief among those is Edgar's multi-instrument virtuosity. This disc is a dynamic combination of guitars, synths and effects. The soundscapes are large and full. The Berlin school sequences create huge walls of sound. The smoking rock and roll guitar riffs balance those walls. Some bizarre wordless chants give the album a sinister atmospheric edge. The sequenced rhythms top the experience. All in all, this is everything that is good in hardcore Berlin school e-music. As Edgar is one of the founders of that school, it is not a surprise! ~ Jim Brenholts, EER-MUSIC.com extra EER Editor notes: Macula Transfer was composed in 1975 and 1976 during airline flights that give the tracks their titles.
