EER-Music.com is sad to report this artist has passed away from a heart attack in early 2012.
He was a wonderful person and helpful to other guitarists. Hugh Albert Ferguson, 53, passed away March 21, 2012. Born in Massachusetts, he moved to California in 1986. Hugh was an amazing
husband and father and an accomplished guitarist. He is survived by his sons, Christopher and Aaron; his wife Karen, and her children,
Matthew, Melanie and Leslie; his father, Albert; and brothers, Paul and Peter. He was predeceased by his son, Hugh Jr.

Hugh Ferguson's recommended fusion! I met Hugh via the web when he asked me to check his MP3.com page out. Whoa! I was way impressed and not only did I add his tunes to my Jazz Prog Fusion Rock radio show but I also asked him to send ALL the music he had ready to ship. I needed more than mp3 files. Ferguson's axe work is solid fusion music in the vein of Allan Holdsworth's I.O.U. period with plenty of crunch and deft whammy bar use. Hugh is NOT afraid to rock out. I like the fact you can see in live footage that his music is FUN to him and not some hyper-technical whankery with no soul. Hugh injects that love of his compositions into each note -- the emotive power adding depth to each note. Yeah, Ferguson is fast, raw, crunchy and you will say, "Does this guy ever get winded?" Nope. Hugh just keeps the rippin' flow cascading along because his technical prowess allows such. You can tell he's focused and pushing his envelope but years upon years of gigs and practice has served him well and his fiery grace sounds effortless. ~ John W. Patterson EER-Music.com

Hugh has sent me his 2002 release The Jungle CD and his 2006 release A.D.D. They are both highly recommended! Here is a movie file of his live work.
Enjoy the show.
Whatever you can grab of Hugh's music is highly recommended. He just keeps gettin' better every new thing I hear from him. "Way to go, Hugh!" (This guy inspired me and is a nice guy too.) Support the Fusion Arts and buy some Hugh Ferguson CDs.

Here's a screenshot of Hugh Ferguson's old website which is gone now.
